The Keenan Institute
The Keenan Institute
Liberia
Founded in 1998, the Keenan Institute was formed through an alliance between The Rev. Prince Wreh of Bong County, Liberia, and Steve and Jacqueline Keenan of Massachusetts, United States. Their vision is to provide education and occupational training so students may make a living, transforming them into positive agents for change in their country.
Rev. Wreh is a Liberian and has served as executive director since the inception of the Institute. Under his guidance, more than 1,000 students have passed through its doors to be educated and trained. Chairman of the Board is Moses Kortu, National Professional Training Officer for the Integrated Mission Training Centre of the United Nations Mission in Liberia.
The Keenan Institute supports a successful Vocational School and Computer Lab, which have trained thousands of students. The organization also includes an Elementary School and High School. The organization is certified and incorporated by the Liberian Department of Education.
The Keenan Institute is now forming relationships with individuals, churches and NGOs to continue and expand on its mission.
